After which, between 12 o'clock in the night and 12.30 in the morning, the Varanasi police-administration opened the basement of Vyas ji and started the puja.

At around 12 o'clock in the night the basement was purified with Panchagavya. After this Shodashopachar puja was performed. The idols were bathed with Ganga water and Panchagavya. After this Mahaganapati was called. Then sandalwood, flowers, Akshat, incense sticks were offered to all the idols and Aarti was performed. Worship took place in Vyas ji's basement for about half an hour.
Talking about daily puja, Panchopachar puja has started from today. This includes bathing the idol of the God, applying sandalwood and offering flowers. Worship is done with Naivedya, incense and lamp. This puja will be repeated in the morning and evening. Mangala Gauri was worshiped as per the rituals in Brahma Muhurta in the morning. The DM, who came out of the premises at 1.50 pm, said that the court order has been complied with.
